Vertigo – A Quick Patient Guide

Vertigo is a false feeling of spinning or movement even when you’re standing still. Many patients describe it as “everything around me is rotating.”

Common ENT Causes are BPPV, Vestibular neuritis, Ménière’s disease, Migraine-related vertigo

Typical Symptoms are Sudden spinning sensation, Unsteadiness while walking, nausea or vomiting, Head heaviness, Visual imbalance

Consult an ENT when you get a vertigo/dizziness episode.

Treatment depends on the cause and may include:

Ear positional exercises

Medicines for inner ear balance

Treating infection or inflammation

Lifestyle and salt-restriction for Ménière’s

Most cases improve well with early evaluation.
